Camera Found but Unable to View

Modified on Wed, 30 Nov, 2022 at 8:51 AM

If you have found your camera using the Find Cameras button but could not connect to it there are a few solutions to try:

You should see the message "Trying auto config 1 out of 26" when connecting to the camera. Make sure to allow all 26 out of 26 settings to be tried. If that doesn't work try the next step.

Select the Advance Settings tab and make sure the Username and Password are entered and correct for your camera.

If there are audio settings on your camera, please disable them as these settings can interfere with the camera communicating with the app. You can do this by accessing your camera from your computer browser and entering the IP Address as if it were a website.

Verify the stream type is compatible for your camera, in most cases the stream type should be RTSP.

If your camera is connected directly to your Apple TV, make sure all cords are plugged in correctly and fully. If the camera is a Power Over Ethernet (PoE) camera, make sure all cables are connected to the correct port. The Apple TV should be connected to the LAN port on your PoE switch, and the camera to the PWR or PoE port.

If your camera is connected through a wireless network to your Apple TV, verify that the camera and the Apple TV are on the same network. You can access your Apple TV's IP address by going into the Settings App and selecting Network.
