CONNECTING CAMERA DIRECTLY TO APPLE TV

If you are connecting an Apple TV directly to a camera via network cable you need to set a static IP Address.

  1. From the Apple TV main screen under Settings
  2. Select Network
  3. Select Ethernet. If it doesn’t say Ethernet, then it’s not recognizing your cable is plugged in. Make sure your cable is plugged in and your camera has power. Then restart your Apple TV and repeat
  4. Select Configure IP and select Manual and enter the IP information to complete the settings
    1. If you are using one of our pre-configured cameras, then you need to set your Apple TV IP Address to the following:
      1. IP Address 10.10.10.46
      2. Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
      3. Router 10.10.10.1
      4. DNS 8.8.8.8

CONNECTING PRE-CONFIGURED WISP TO LIVE SYSTEM

  1. After connecting power to the new router, using an ethernet cable plug one end into the middle port of the Wi-Fi router then the other end into any port on your switch/network. This will now allow any iPad/iPhone connected to the SideLineLive Wi-Fi network to download clips using the QR codes directly from the AppleTV.

Continue on if the facility has internet and you want the SideLine Live network to have internet access for updates and easy access to post on social media or share video clips.

  1. Connect your phone or laptop to the SideLineLive wireless network and open your internet browser to 10.10.10.1. Login to the admin interface using pre-configured password sls12345. If that doesn’t work reference the sticker on the device.
  2. If internet is available in the facility, you can connect this new router using the repeater function under the internet section of the admin interface. Reference doc found here Repeater - GL.iNet Docs (gl-inet.com)
  3. Go to Internet->Repeater->Scan Now/Connect
  4. Find the facility internet in the list. If it requires a password enter it here.
  5. Be sure the Remember radio button is selected.
  6. Press Apply to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
  7. After successful connection you should see the wireless network with a small green dot to the left.  Test it out.

USING POOLSIDE LIVE WITH JUST AN iPHONE

How to run PoolSide/SideLine Live with just my iPhone if I DO NOT have an existing network

View this video for instructions: https://youtu.be/3Ad0Rat6Rdc

  1. Install PoolSide Live on the Apple TV
  2. Download an iPhone app that will turn your phone into an RTSP camera. In my example I will use Live-Reporter (FREE version)
  3. If you don't have an existing Wi-Fi network there is a little trick you can do to still make it work in a pinch. Open Settings on your iPhone and choose Cellular. In here you will find an option to create a Personal Hotspot. Turn it on and set a password to keep unwanted people from connecting. Your iPhone should now be broadcasting a Wi-Fi network. Now connect your Apple TV to this new hotspot you created (usually set to iPhone by default)
    1. Open the Settings app on the Apple TV
    2. Select Network
    3. Select Wi-Fi
    4. Wait for nearby networks to appear
      1. I see my iPhone in the list
        1. Select your iPhone hotspot Wi-Fi name from the list
        2. Type in password for your hotspot Wi-Fi
      2. I don’t see my iPhone in the list
        1. Select Other
        2. Enter the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join
        3. Enter the password associated with the network
        4. Click Continue and this should complete the connection
    5. Press Menu to return to Main AppleTV Screen
  4. Launch the Live-Reporter app on your iPhone
  5. Next open PoolSide Live on the Apple TV and scan for new cameras. Your iPhone IP should show up in the grid after the scan is complete. If it doesn't show up after the scan, make sure the Live-Reporter app is open and you can see your camera video on the screen. The IP address it is using to serve the video to PoolSide Live is displayed and looks something like rtsp://192.168.1.102
  6. Once the Camera shows up in the grid select it and start using PoolSide Live. When using an iPhone or iPad as a camera we strongly recommend it be stationary to get the best picture due to the Wi-Fi connectivity.
