Modified on Fri, 30 Jan at 9:55 AM

Video Clipping Tool

(Requires Local Wi-Fi Network — Internet Not Required)

The Video Clipping feature allows you to create short clips from a live session and download them directly to an iPad or iPhone.

Creating a Clip

  • Tap the Scissors icon to clip the last X seconds
(based on your default clip length: 5 seconds – 5 minutes)

  • Press and hold the Scissors icon to adjust the clip length on demand.

Downloading Clips (QR Code)

  • After processing, a QR Code will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

  • Scan the QR Code using the Sideline Scout Viewer App on an iPhone or iPad to download the clip.

Notes:

  • Clips can also be accessed later under the Recordings tab after the session ends.

  • Internet is optional, but recommended if you want to share clips quickly via social media or other apps.

If the QR Code Disappears

If the control bar hides the QR Code:

  • Swipe down to bring the controls back and retrieve the QR Code
    OR

  • Open the clip later from the Recordings tab.

Requirements for Clip Download

  • The coach/athlete must have the Sideline Scout Viewer App installed (iPhone/iPad).

  • The iPad/iPhone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Apple TV.

  • In the Viewer App, make sure LIVE is toggled, not Scout.

  • In the Viewer App, select the QR Scan button to scan the code displayed on the TV.

App Permissions (Must Be Enabled)

Athletes/coaches must allow the following permissions on their device for clip downloads to work properly:

  • Camera Access (to scan the QR Code)

  • Local Network Access (to communicate with the Apple TV)

  • Location Access — “While Using the App” (required by iOS for local network discovery)
